蘇美島 Massage Guide

Koh Samui is Thailand’s second-largest island after Phuket and has built a reputation for relaxation, with resort spas, yoga studios and wellness retreats scattered along its beaches. The island is made up of distinct beach towns: Chaweng is the busiest, Lamai is more relaxed, Bophut and Fisherman’s Village have a boutique feel, and the quieter north and west coasts suit those who want peace. Because everything is spread out and the ring road can be slow in the afternoon, it helps to choose a base first and book spas near it rather than crossing the island. This guide covers the main areas, a realistic price range, the rainy and dry seasons, and how to reach the island by air or ferry.

Massage styles in 蘇美島

On Samui you can find simple roadside shops offering Thai massage and foot reflexology alongside high-end resort spas with signature treatments built around coconut, lemongrass and local herbs. Wellness retreats add detox programmes, yoga and meditation for longer stays. Hot herbal compress massage is popular here, and sea-view treatment rooms are a highlight of many resort spas. If you are visiting for a short holiday, a mid-range spa in your beach area is usually the simplest choice, and a resort day-spa package suits a special occasion.

Getting to 蘇美島

Koh Samui has its own airport (USM) near Bophut on the north-east of the island, with flights from Bangkok and a few other cities. Many visitors also arrive by ferry from the mainland, usually via Surat Thani or Don Sak, often combined with a bus or train. Once on the island, shared songthaew trucks, taxis and rented scooters are the main ways to travel; taxis on Samui are often unmetered, so agree the fare before you start.

Best time to visit

The drier months from around January to August are the most popular for beach weather. The island receives its heaviest rain from roughly October to December, when seas can be rough and some boat trips are cancelled. Spas open all year, and wet days are a natural fit for a long treatment.

  • Tipping is welcome but optional; 50 to 100 baht directly to your therapist is typical.

  • Keep valuables secure in your room or a locker while you are being treated.
